Puustila Golf & Ski
Accommodation and Activities Right in the Heart of Tahko
Puustila Golf & Ski offers high-quality, hassle-free, and versatile accommodation across 13 different apartments and cottages.
Our properties are located in beautiful natural surroundings, right in the heart of Tahko Camping. Local services and a wide range of activities are just a short walk away.
The History of the Area
Just a few decades ago, Puustila was still a traditional farm where pigs were raised and grain was cultivated.
As the Tahko area began to develop and the idea of building the region’s first golf course emerged, continuing farming right in the center of Tahko no longer seemed practical to Hannu, the fourth-generation owner of Puustila.
He began to consider whether the farm’s land could be repurposed for accommodation – and so, the idea for Puustila Golf & Ski was born.
In 2001, the first accommodation unit, a semi-detached house called Puustila A and B, was completed. It was built on the site of the old farmhouse, reusing its original structure in respectful tribute to its history.

The Future of Puustila
In the future, we will continue to provide high-quality accommodation, just as we always have. However, we are placing even greater emphasis on sustainability and ecological responsibility — to help preserve the rich natural environment around us for generations to come.
As a testament to this, we began building our EcoCompass environmental management system in early 2020, received our certification in September 2021, and earned the Sustainable Travel Finland label in October 2022.
We also participated in the Sustainable Tahko initiative together with other local businesses, aiming to make Tahko a certified Sustainable Travel Finland destination by 2024. The goal was reached a year ahead of schedule — in May 2023.
The Entrepreneurs Behind Puustila
Juha-Pekka Ahonen
Better known as JP, I began my journey as an entrepreneur back in 1995, spending several summers selling ice cream at the Kärkinen ferry in Korpilahti.
From there, my path took me through studies and into employment — until, in 2010, I founded my own electrical and construction company, SRS Ahonen Oy.
I became an entrepreneur in Tahko because I want to be part of developing local tourism and services. It’s important to me that our guests feel at home and receive high-quality service.
In my free time, I’ve long been involved with the volunteer fire brigade, so I’m well trained in first aid. I love spending time with my children, especially with ponies, at the spa, or on the ski slopes.
I’m always happy to stop for a chat, so don’t hesitate to say hello if you see me working nearby!
You're warmly welcome to get to know us, experience what we do, and enjoy all the beauty and activities Tahko has to offer. Let’s make your holiday unforgettable – together!

Hanna Mäkinen
My journey as an entrepreneur began in 2005 when I founded my own equestrian business — no surprise, as I’ve been passionate about horses since I was a little girl.
Our family includes not only JP, but also our daughters Liinu (10), Jade (9), and Hilma (2½), as well as ponies Roman, Roope, Ransu, and Brianna, our dogs Belle and Kaja, and our cat Vilkas. We also have a homebred Finnish horse, Tahvo, who keeps busy in trotting training remotely
Funny enough, all our daughters have inherited the love for animals and ponies. During the summer, we travel together to many riding competitions.
I hold several official licenses in equestrian sports and spend a lot of time doing volunteer work in the field we all love.
I’m naturally active, talkative, and always ready to help.
You’ll often find me tidying up and taking care of our accommodation sites, or at the nearby stable tending to the horses.
Tahko feels like the perfect place to raise children — close to nature, with fantastic opportunities for hobbies.
I always aim to ensure our guests feel welcome and at ease — both in our accommodations and in the beautiful surroundings of Tahko!
